Romance runs wild at Shelley & Joe's beautiful winter wedding at Recommended venue Syrencot. The couple decided on a less traditional day, describing it to their friends as a 'big black tie party - crisp, romantic, classic, but with a modern twist'. That's the kind of party we'd love an invite to! The glass house, candles, fairy lights, floral columns and incredible burgundy and blush colour palette all played vital roles in making this a breathtaking wedding. The beautiful, elegant stationery found dotted throughout the day was done expertly by, Recommended supplier, Bewilderly. And her skills don't stop there! She also customised the bride's super stylish leather jacket. What follows a fantastic wedding? A fantastic gift list - and Shelley & Joe certainly had that covered with Recommended supplier, Prezola.
We both knew we didn’t want an overly traditional wedding. It was important to us that we used elements of our personality and style throughout the day to express ourselves as a couple. Statement touches such as Joe’s velvet suit, Shelley’s flower crown, sparkly bows and cape, the top table decor with the flower columns and the fabric signs were go-to points.

There were aspects of Joe’s Italian heritage throughout. Starting with a limoncello shot in the morning, and each guest receiving a traditional bonbonniere. The colour palette of burgundy, blush and pampas was the foundation of the day; from our invitations to the bouquets, flowers and buttonholes into the bridesmaid's dresses, and the groomsmen's bow ties. The bauble place names had burgundy ties and the boutonnieres were wrapped in burgundy ribbon with pampas. We wanted to always remember the day and therefore chose lasting pieces. Our fabric signs will be hung in our home! And the place names were baubles for guests to use on their Christmas trees every year.

From our initial idea of a crisp, romantic and classic wedding, you would think that having a velvet tux, leather jackets, flower crowns and columns, with the added sparkle, would all clash. But it did the opposite - everything tied together perfectly, and we couldn't be happier. It was incredible to see our ideas come together through the magic and pure talent of our suppliers, captured beautifully by our photographers.
